Cherries for Aching Joints, Fat Loss & Insomnia

Imagine a food that can help relieve symptoms of gout, arthritis, insomnia and increase fat loss. And to think that this magic food also tastes amazing! Cherries! They contain many compounds that can help heal these symptoms.

Cherries contain many beneficial compounds like anthocyanins, quercetin, hydroxycinnamates, potassium, carotenoids and melatonin that help the body heal. Some of these compounds are anti-oxidants and help decrease inflammation and increase fat loss. Potatssium is also important for good electrolyte balance, muscle strength and recovery, and balances blood pressure. So, by adding this beneficial fruit to your daily routine, you can cash in on these amazing health benefits.

Unfortunately, cherries are mostly in season in spring and summer. However, year round you can find them frozen, dried or in a juice. Frozen cherries are great because they already are de-pitted and ready to eat. Add them to smoothies, yogurt or oatmeal.

Lastly, cherries are a lower glycemic fruit. I like that it has a natural sweetness but won’t raise your blood sugar too much.
